What is room status in hospitality?
Room status is the state of a hotel room at a given moment — occupied, vacant, clean, being cleaned, ready to sell, out of order — used to coordinate housekeeping, the front desk, and the sale of rooms.
Codified in hotel management systems (PMS) with standardized labels, it links the housekeeping work to commercial availability. Wrong or late status information causes waits, overbooking, or unsold rooms.
