What is a shift handover?
A shift handover is the structured transfer of information between two teams that follow one another on the same post, so as to ensure continuity of activity: what has been done, what remains to do, the points to watch, and the instructions still in progress.
Depending on the sector, it is called a handover of instructions (industry, security), transmissions (healthcare), a hand-over (hospitality), or a shift change (rotating shifts, hospital). A failed handover is a frequent cause of errors, omissions, and disputes.
