What is housekeeping in hospitality?
Housekeeping (the floor service) is the hotel department responsible for the cleanliness and readiness of rooms and common areas: cleaning, turndown, restocking, and quality control, under the responsibility of the executive housekeeper.
It is one of the most coordination-intensive services: the number of rooms to handle, arrival and departure priorities, and reporting of issues. Communication with the front desk and maintenance is constant and decisive for the guest experience.
