What is an intranet?
An intranet is a private computer network, internal to an organization, using web technologies to give its members access to shared information, documents, and services reserved for the company.
Long designed as an internal site accessed from an office computer, the intranet is shifting toward mobile and social formats to reach employees without a computer. The term remains broader than “enterprise social network.”
