The digital workplace (digital work environment) is the integrated set of digital tools made available to employees to communicate, collaborate, and access their business applications, from any device.
Popularized by the Gartner firm, the concept goes beyond the intranet: it aims at a unified experience bringing together communication, documents, the directory, and services. Extending it to “deskless” workers is one of today’s major undertakings.
