A mobile-first app is an application designed first for the smartphone — not adapted after the fact from a desktop version — whose ergonomics, speed, and features are built for use on the move.
For internal communication, the mobile-first approach is decisive: most frontline employees have no work computer and access information through their phone. Notifications, simple sign-in, and offline mode are structural there.
